An Economic Vitality Roadmap meeting will be held on Monday, August 20, from 5:30-8:00 p.m. at the Gateway Community Church, 796 Pacific Drive in the Hammond neighborhood of Warrenton.  The meeting is open to the public and anyone interested in rolling up their sleeves and working to make Warrenton a more vibrant community is encouraged to attend. Refreshments will be served.

This meeting is part one of a three-part process to create an action-oriented roadmap to economic success for Warrenton.  Highlights of the “Community Assessment” findings will be shared, along with a community discussion to begin to set priorities for action. The presentation can be found on the City’s website. Among the priorities identified by the assessment and a preliminary community survey were downtown revitalization, private property cleanup, small business attraction, and workforce development.

Mayor Henry Balensifer commented, “the Warrenton City Commission is excited to implement one of our key Commission goals: livability. This kick off is the first step to bring community members, organizations, business, and government together to focus on community projects. With this fact-based assessment of our community and the outreach that RDI has done, we are confident residents and business owners will step up to participate in making positive change.”

Economic Vitality Roadmap is a program of Rural Development Initiatives (RDI) that takes rural communities through a three-part process to create an action-oriented roadmap to economic success. The City of Warrenton is the project sponsor. The process includes an assessment, identification of key initiatives, and implementation. RDI staff helps your community take the road to community vitality.
