Wanted Warrenton Fugitive Arrested by US Marshals Service

On 04/28/2021 Sidney Crawford was arrested on an outstanding felony warrant for Attempted Murder by the United States Marshals Service.

Crawford was originally arrested on February 25, 2021 by Warrenton Police Officers after he was reported to have poured gasoline on another person and threatened to light them both on fire. On that date Crawford was arrested on charges of Recklessly Endangering Another Person and Menacing and lodged at the Clatsop County Jail. The case was referred to the Clatsop County District Attorney’s Office for review.

After Crawford’s initial arraignment he was released on pre-trial release and was required to wear a GPS Ankle Monitor. Crawford’s ankle monitor ceased reporting his location on March 14, 2021.

On March 11, 2021 a Clatsop County Grand Jury indicted Sidney Crawford on charges of Attempted Murder, Attempted Arson in the First Degree, Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Coercion, Menacing, and Recklessly Endangering Another Person. He subsequently failed to appear for a court appearance, and additional charges have been referred to the District Attorney’s Office. An arrest warrant was issued on March 16, 2021.

Warrenton Police Department requested the assistance of the United States Marshal’s Service in locating and taking Crawford into custody. On 04/28/2021 Crawford was located by the Marshals Service in Clackamas County, Oregon and was arrested on the outstanding warrant. Crawford was transported to the Clackamas County Jail and will be extradited to Clatsop County.
