Countywide Citizen's Police Academy Announced

2018 Citizens Academy Flyer

Six local law enforcement agencies are joining together to present the 2018 Citizen Police Academy. The Academy is scheduled to start with Tuesday sessions on April 17th, 6pm to 9pm and run each Tuesday through June 11th. An additional session will be held on Saturday, May 19th from 8am to 5pm for hands-on firearms training. Meeting locations will vary and include Seaside Police Department, Cannon Beach Police Department, Clatsop County Sheriff's Office, Clatsop County Courthouse, Warrenton Police Department, and Seaside City Hall. Please see the attached schedule for more details.

Attendees will get to learn more about the different aspects of Law Enforcement. Participants will have the opportunity to tour the various facilities, learn about crime scenes, criminal investigations, use of the Taser, use of different firearms, tour the Clatsop County Jail, and participate in simulations and scenarios.

If you are interested in attending you must complete an application (see attached) which will include a background check. The application should be returned to the agency in the jurisdiction where you live. So if you live in Warrenton you can drop off your application at the WPD at 225 S. Main Ave. or email it to mworkman@ci.warrenton.or.us
